Africans For Miss Universe 2010 Pageant Tags: African Pageant Fashion

Believe it or not Miss Universe 2010 has commenced and the girls have already begun to bid for the crown and sash, and everything else. People all over the world have begun to pick their favourites. But only time would tell who will clinch the prize and make her country and continent proud.

This year the competition is taking place in Las Vegas, USA. The main/final event will be on Monday, the 23rd of August 2010.

African queens have won the Miss Universe crown three times – Miss South Africa in 1978, Miss Namibia in 1992 and Miss Botswana in 1999.

Let’s take a look at Africa’s representatives

Nigeria: Ngozi Odalonu (22), the 1st runner up from the 2010 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant is representing Nigeria. She’s a beauty with ebony skin, a slender physique, long legs, an engaging smile and lovely cheek bones. Would she satisfy the judges?

Angola: Jeruma Ferraz (25). This striking cat-eyed beauty is strutting ebony skin and long legs to the pageant, prepared to lift her elegant shoulders to the finals. But would she make it?

Botswana: Tirelo Ramasedi (21) represents her country with sweet chocolate skin, a slender hour-glass figure on long legs. Would she lead the pack?

Egypt: Donia Hammed (22) is a creamy Caucasian with shoulder length, dark brown hair and striking eyes. Plus long legs and a baby face. Is she what the judges are looking for?

Ghana: Awurama Simpson (22) is a dark beauty with a sweet face, striking eyes, a tiny waist on her slender hour glass figure. Plus long legs and an engaging smile. Would all that be enough for the crown?

South Africa: Nicole Flint (22) represents this year's FIFA U-17 World Cup host with beautifully tanned Caucasian skin, shoulder length dark brown hair, lovely cheek bones, nice eyes and long legs. Would she bring back the crown?

Tanzania: Hellen Dausen (23) is representing her country with cropped black hair, striking eyes, a tiny waist, a slender hour glass figure and striking poses. Is she the next Miss Universe?

Zambia: Alice Musukwa (22) represents her country with a very slender, long legged figure and dark chocolate skin. Would she be wearing the coveted crown?

They are all so very beautiful, so very ‘good enough’ to wear the crown. But the truth is; so are all the other contestants, and besides ‘good enough’ is not enough.

They have to be the best in every activity and challenge, put before them everyday until the finals.

They would need their brains, their will, attitude and the 'X' factor.
They have to earn their points.
Monday is only a weekend away. Two days to be precise so … the countdown has begun.

Support our African Queens all the way to the last minute.

Paw Paw lost out on National award Tags: Pap paw Nigeria

Osita Iheme a.k.a Paw-paw may have forgotten this story, but the fact remains that the diminutive actor  may have robbed himself the rare chance of being nominated for the National award.

Paw-Paw’s screen twin, Chinedu Ikedieze popularly known as Aki was one of the distinguished Nigerians who were accorded  recognition some Thursdays ago  by the Federal Government.

A gesture which generated controversy as many stakeholders in the movie sector blamed the government  for failing to extend the same treatment  to the other actor.

It was however the  stakeholders’ conviction  that both diminutive actors started off  their careers same time, featured in the same movies  and won many laurels together and therefore desire to be honoured jointly.

But a new twist to the story is the fact that Paw-Paw is now being held responsible for his own misfortune as far as the nomination for the award was concerned.
