Actress Juliet Ibrahim In Trouble!

Actress Juliet When Spectator Agoro interviewed her last June, this year, following her instant rise to stardom upon the release of the film Crime to Christ, Juliet Ibrahim was quite mouthful in telling this writer how some Casanovas always attempted to woo her with ‘sweet’ love proposals.

Then, the rumours were that the seductive-looking actress was surreptitiously dating actor Majid Michel, who, aside playing the role as Juliet’s husband in Crime to Christ, nevertheless remained the ‘real’ husband of one of Juliet’s friend.

So Juliet, in playing down the rumours, at the time, led this writer into her love-life and indicated as follows:
“But let me tell everyone that the rumours are not true. Very much so, Majid’s wife is my good friend, for which reason I cannot be his (Majid) lover or girlfriend.

“I think if there is anything that people should talk about, it should be me and other men. The fact is I get endless offers of marriage from men virtually every day, and I can tell you that it at times becomes mind-boggling.

“At times I wonder where they (men) get my contact from, but all the same I’m able to deal with them the courteous, diplomatic way.” – Spectator, June 13, 2009. Today, the pretty, light-skinned screen-goddess is troubled by the barrage of nauseating love proposals she gets from a particular man. And she is prepared to report the man to the police before tomorrow dawns “if the stalker doesn’t stop pestering my life.”

According to Juliet, who is currently one of Ghana’s notable acts making it big-time in Nigeria’s Nollywood, though she has made it clear on countless occasions to the ‘man’ that she was engaged and would soon be tying the knot, the ‘man’ appears carefree of the situation.

“This issue is becoming a constant worry for me because this man will simply not stop pestering me, at times with calls and text messages almost every minute. I’ve told him to stop harassing me or else I’ll go to the police and report him before Christmas,” she told Agoro, wearing a distraught voice.

Categorizing her suitors into three, viz friendship-seekers, bachelors and divorcees, Juliet identified the two latter groups as those she is most worried about. “Well, I’m so much okay with the friendship-seekers who always request to be just friends, at times on Facebook. But it’s the two others (bachelors and divorcees) that worry me,” she said.

She described the divorcee as “rich, older divorced men who want me to be their trophy wife” and the bachelors as “those who will give everything for me to agree to tie the knot with them.” She added that “they just don’t stand the chance because I’m seriously engaged to a Ghanaian pilot who will soon take me to the altar. So they should just leave me alone to concentrate on my career.”

On the man stalking her, Julie said “if that man doesn’t stop pestering my life, he’ll spend this Christmas with the police.” Meantime, investigations by Agoro have thrown up the identity of the ‘men’.

However, in agreeing to the wish of Juliet that the ‘man’ remains unnamed for now, hoping that he may turn a new leaf in attitude following the publication of their story, Spectator Agoro wishes that he (the man) appreciates the concerns of the young actress and leave her alone. Failure, however, may be the publication in our next issue on December 29, of his name and the unthinkable tactics he employs in ‘chasing’ women.

“I don’t have Michael Essien’s Range Rover’ - Becca

Sensational Ghanaian Afro-pop songstress, Rebecca Acheampong known in showbiz circles as Becca has described as malicious and unfounded recent media speculations that she is dating the internationally acclaimed football superstar, Michael Essien.

Speaking to the P&P about the media reports, a distressed Becca vehemently denied having any intimate relationship with the Chelsea and Black star midfield star. “I have never met Michael anywhere before not to talk about dating him. I only see him on TV doing what he does best. I am surprised how some people can go round making allegations they cannot substantiate. How can I go out with a man I have not met before. This is ridiculous”.

She disclosed that since the issue made the headlines, friends, family and school mates have been calling to find out if indeed he was going out with the soccer maestro. “Whilst some say they have heard I have a child with Michael, others say he has bought me a brand new Range Rover vehicle. All these are unfounded allegations. I wonder how a journalist can write something like that without any investigations. It all began a few weeks ago when a during a radio interview on Peace FMs Entertainment Review programme some anonymous person sent a text to ask if she was seeing Michael.

Though Becca denied and insisted she never knew the football star, the media somehow picked it up and blew it out of proportion. Sometime last year, there were media reports that Becca was seeing the Camerounian superstar, Samuel Etoo, which turned out to be false. Indeed Becca only featured on a documentary on the life and achievements of the footballer.
