Akon Tells Black People to Move to Africa, Trayvon Martin Killing Tags: Akon News Senegal Artists Politics

R&B star Akon has suggested that African-Americans living in the US should move back to Africa following George Zimmerman's acquittal in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin.

The Smack That hitmaker, who was born in Senegal, west Africa, took to his Instagram page after the trial in which Zimmerman was found not guilty of murder and manslaughter by a jury of six women in Sanford, Florida.

Posting a screen grab of the live broadcast of the trial he wrote:  "Every African-American in the United States needs to move their money, family, knowledge back to Africa were you will be treated like the royalty you are.

R'n'B star tells African-American fans that George Zimmerman's acquittal proves US is not their country.

"You don't deserve this treatment. This is not your country."

The 40-year-old star is among a number of stars who reacted to the acquittal of the teenager's killer after jurors accepted his claim that he shot Trayvon in self-defence.

Singer Kelly Rowland shed tears for the teenager and his family, Lil' Kim cried out for justice, and Russell Simmons called for a change to gun laws.

Beyoncé took a moment to honour Martin during her Mrs Carter Show World Tour concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennesse. Her concert started about 30 minutes after news of the Zimmerman verdict began to circulate.

Before singing the chorus of I Will Always Love You, she told the crowd : "I'd like to have a moment of silence for Trayvon."

Protests have been held across country. Trayvon's parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, were "heartbroken and devastated," their lawyer said.

Iyanya shoots the sexiest music video ever, Head Swell (VIDEO) Tags: Music Iyanya Head Swell Nigeria Artists

It’s no more news that Nigerian musicians are breaking all boundaries and becoming more daring. But music star Iyanya seems to have taken it all to another level with the release of what many believe to be the sexiest music video ever doled out by a Nigerian artist. The video of the hit song Head Swell reeks of nothing but raw sex. It seems to us though like the video will get the NBC hammer.

Iyanya Mbuk speaks English and Efik, he likes to write songs and hang out at Karaoke bars. He also attends choir practice on Saturdays. His favourite hangouts in Calabar include Fiesta Fries Bar, Mirage Nite Club and Westlife. Describing Nigeria as a beautiful place, he dislikes dishonesty and pomposity.

Toofa: Follow My dance Featuring Tech Noir Tags: Togo Toofan Music Videos Artists Tech Noir

Toofan releases their new, hot and sexy dance music videos featuring Tech Noir in "Follow My Dance." The emerging and talented African group will do anything just to represent Africa. The music video, Follow My Dance, is the mix of old African fashion dressing and a unique French styles.

Toofan, possibly the most popular group in Togo was created by three high school friends: Master Just(FantohouKossi Justeand) Barabas (Mensah Blaise) and All One (Akue Agoe, who later left the group). Nominated for the KORA Awards most promising African group in 2010, they first hit the scene in 2005 with their album, ‘Epervier Ogbragada’.

VIDEO:

Toofan’s songs was played every time the team was shown celebrating and they got to tour with the them.  Their sound captured the continent in the Africa Nation’s cup of 2012, with their hit, “African Hoyee”.  By featuring children, naming famous footballers from all over Africa and showing the children playing in ghetto settings the group the song exploded as their message was conveyed that football is everyone’s  game and not just a luxury sport.  Toofan has been touring internationally for the past few years, making a lot of fans and money along the way.

Their style of music,”Obragada”, is a very popular style in French speaking Africa. Obragada is a mixture of indigenous music, hip hop, funk, reggae, R&B ,rap, and even comedy. In the Mina language of Togo it means, I’m fine.

Irene Ntale is the New Kid on the Music Block Tags: Uganda Music Irene Ntale Artists East Africa Musicians Female Artistst Discover Music
Irene Ntale is the new artist on the music block signed to Swangz Avenue and trust Bebe Cool who is quick at identifying talent, they have already done a track together. On Wednesday, Irene and Bebe were shooting the video for their latest track, Love Letter.

If you've watched or listened to her first studio single, 'Nkubukinze' which was released late last month, you will notice that the guitarist and songwriter has talent. Interestingly, top stars like Juliana Kanyomozi and Iryn Namubiru have already appreciated her music. Appearing on Radiocity FM last week, Juliana told McKenzie that she is promising after listening to her track that was #18 on the countdown.

Getting such remarks from a Tusker Project Fame judge and more so Juliana is one way of knowing that you are on the right track. A tweet from Iryn Namubiru to Ntale last month indicates that she equally appreciates her music. 'Im loving your vibes', Iryn tweeted.

A section of forever upcoming artistes are certainly not happy about this given the fact that Irene has just landed but she is already doing so well in terms of vocals nebigenderako.
