Rabbie Nassrallah aka Nasseman is Liberia’s premier reggae star. "This is a dark city, but one day this place is going to shine.," said Rabbie Nassrallah aka Nasseman, seen in this image singing one of his songs during the filming of his music video.
His positive messages in his new song "bonkey " meaning, bad governance. with corruption, in a nation will always bring Poverty, corruption and other deep issues are what liberia is facing right now. Nasseman is definitely ready to put Liberian music on the world's music scene.
Rabbie has been living in Monrovia his entire life, including during the war when hundreds of thousands fled the country. He has some incredible and at times disturbing stories from Liberia’s tumultuous recent history, beginning in the earliest years of his childhood.
We’ve heard only a few of these, but far more of his jamming reggae tracks. Rabbie writes music with a focus on social justice, singing about the problems he sees in Liberian society (as well as a few love songs and club numbers).
P-Square finally drops the video for "Chop My Money" with special appearance from Akon of Konvict Music, you best believe that cause he featured on this track. Like always nothing short of the best is expected from the cool twins (P-Square).
The video was shot in multiple locations including in the club scenes, very expensive video, the Okoye brothers must have spent a fortune on this one.(chopping their money).
Akon did what he knows how to do best and Mister May D, the first signed artiste to Square Records shows us what makes him special.
Lovely video from P-Square and good directing skills from Jude "Engees" Okoye and Ben Marc.
Directed by Kevin MacDonald (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play), it is a documentary on the life, music, and legacy of legendary Jamaican singer-songwriter and musician, Bob Marley. The film was premiered at the 2012 Berlin Film Festival and set to hit SXSW Festival which will run from 8th - 13th March 2012 in Austin, Texas.
It is the first feature backed by the Marley family as well as the legend's longtime music label head Chris Blackwell which should make for the most insightful look at his life yet as it follows "the musician, revolutionary and legend from his earliest days to his rise to international superstardom" using rare footage, archival photos and incredible performances and interviews with his family, friends and bandmates.
Somalia MC K’naan has shot some official visuals for his collaborative track featuring Nas “Nothing To Lose” – the uplifting and catchy first single taken from his current EP More Beautiful Than Silence.
This is not the first time the two have linked up, the first time being on Nas and Damian Marley’s Distant Relatives project but this time K’naan takes the lead showing Nas his old spots in his native Canada, where we see him catching up with his peoples and visiting the area he grew up in, including the Somali Social Club and Poets & Pirates Cafe.
