Meets Timaya's New Family - Baby And Baby Mama Tags: Timaya Musicians Artists Celebrity News Nigeria News
Pop singer Timaya welcomed his first child – a baby girl in May 2012n but the identity of his baby mama has remained a secret. Well now there’s a photo for you to check out.

NET learns that the lady who stole Timaya’s heart is Barbara, a singer and budding actress. The dark skinned lady, who is in her 20s, is believed to have met Timaya in 2010.

Fans of the ‘Dem Mama Soldier’ boss might be disappointed to know that there won’t be any wedding bells ringing soon, as Timaya says he’s not considering marriage for now. ‘I wanted to have a baby by Barbara because she is my kind of woman; the kind of woman I’d like to spend the rest of my life with and this was why I decided from the outset that I’d go the whole hog with her. But she knows that marriage is not something we will dabble into now’, Timaya told E-Punch a few days after Barbara gave birth.

However, he is focused on catering for their needs. Timaya (whose’s real name is Enetimi Odom) named his daughter Emmanuella Perere Timaya. ‘I’m building my own dynasty which is why my baby and the other ones that would come after her would bear Timaya as their surname, not Odom’ he explains.

‘Marriage comes with a lot of responsibilities which are beyond financial or material things. God has blessed me with everything a man needs to have a successful married life and you can bet that Emmanuella and Barbara will get the best of everything money can buy, but personally, I don’t feel ready for it‘.

Reports say Timaya put Barbara and Emmanuella in an apartment in the heart of Ikeja, and bought her a GL Fomatic 450 Benz, valued at about N13m.

Since breaking up with former lover Empress Njamah, Timaya has managed to stay out of controvers – He recently released his fourth album ‘Upgrade,’ cut his hair, and is said to be busy performing at high-paid shows.

‘The music industry is growing bigger by the day and very soon, indolent artistes would be swept to the background. I don’t want to be a yesterday star; neither do I want to end up being a fleeting star, I want to continue being relevant. That is why I am putting my everything into music and God is blessing the work of my hands‘ Timaya says.

Timaya:I am not searching for Mrs Perfect Tags: Music News Artists Timaya Celebrity News Relationship Famous Afircans Musicians Male Artists
The self-styled Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, Timaya, may be single and searching, but he is definitely not longing for Miss Perfect. It is certain that the dreadlocked singer has recovered from his failed relationship with Nollywood actress Empress Njamah and he has since put the experience behind him. But it appears that he has learnt his lesson the hard way and will not settle down with just any woman.

“My bride must be very intelligent, outspoken, caring and loving. Her strongest quality is, she must be God-fearing. A woman that is God-fearing will not jump around and she will be submissive to her man.

“I’m not searching for a perfect woman. I’m not yet married because I haven’t found a God-fearing woman who will pamper me and our would-be children. A woman that cooks very well and who will stay my side in time of trials. A womanwho loves me from the depth of her heart, in spite of my shortcomings.  I’m waiting for God to guide me to that woman.”

Akon Talks 'Stadium' Album, Upcoming Movie & More Tags: Music News Akon Artists Movie News Famous Africans Musicians Male Artists
Last week (May 1), Akon stepped back into the ring with the video for "Hurt Somebody;" the French Montana-assisted new single off his fourth studio album, "Stadium." The collaboration with his close friend, who was initially signed to Konvict Muzuk back in 2009 before now Bad Boy, was strategically designed to broaden French's reach in the U.S. and internationally, all while kick-starting the promotion for Akon's fourth LP.

In addition to representing the struggle within our economic times, Akon explained that boxing-themed "Hurt Somebody" also examines "how we deal with confrontation" and supports non-gun violence as a realistic alternative to more lethal outcomes. "When you have to deal with rage, I would rather you duke it out than shoot it out," Akon urged, hammering home that taking a life can't heal like a swollen black eye.

"Hurt Somebody" is intentionally cinematic. In October, a month after the release of "Stadium" (Sept 2012), Akon will begin working on a film titled, "One More Day," with the video's director, Gil Green. "Everything's in line, the funding's there, we're in the last stages of casting… it's pretty much ready to go," Akon assured The Juice. Like in "Hurt Somebody,"  Akon will be playing the role of an underdog young boxer from the streets. Currently having conversations to secure a major motion picture release for "One More Day," Akon is considering having the film go straight to DVD to market and promote the re-package of "Stadium" in the future.

While he may not have been as present domestically in the last year, Akon admitted to focusing his efforts outside the U.S. in order to penetrate markets in India and Latin America. He's been enjoying the influx of creativity that comes with traveling overseas, all the while recording.

"Angel," the first single off "Stadium," was initially released through Konvict/Universal back in 2010, but when the music industry endured some rather severe restructuring, Akon pulled the plug. "The labels were all crashing and switching up staff," Akon told The Juice. "There was a lot going on within the industry itself and a lot of changes were being made, so within that process, I kind of decided I wanted to push back until [they] got everything together."

Akon's four year hiatus gave him the opportunity to dialog with his fans. Now fully engaged, Akon plans to deliver the street records that both him and his fans love, starting with his upcoming mixtape, "Koncrete Jungle," set for "later this month [May]."

Although having his fans' wants in mind, Akon is no longer interested in making huge crossover records but instead wants to experiment and "have fun." Earlier this year, he spent time in Jamaica's Tuff Gong studios with Damian, Stephen and Julian Marley, enhancing his sonic repertoire and making "magic" in the same studio that  Bob Marley once recorded in.

"It was such an honor to be in that environment and be inspired by it," Akon said. "They had me writing three to four songs a day because I was so amped!" And of the studio itself, Akon seemed astonished: "Nothing's really changed, they kept it exactly how it was."

Aside from the reggae influenced, Stephen Marley featured cut, "Just A Man," on "Stadium," Akon plans to release an all-reggae, full-length opus after finishing "Stadium." "I always said to myself, 'When I get to that position when I can do an all-reggae album, I would love to do it,' and those guys are the best to do it with," Akon said, while hinting on collaborating with the Marley brothers for the album.

Rejuvenated from his travels and secure in a calmer label climate, "new staff, new systems, new energy;" Akon is finally ready to give his fourth album a go. After appearing on "American Idol" and VH1's "Behind The Music," it would appear Akon is setting the stage well for "Stadium," an album that he describes as "a piece of everything... this big, huge event looking to gather people from all over the world."
