Scores of Liberian women went ‘naked’ Tuesday, May 27, on the grounds of the Capitol Building in protest of their late husbands’ “benefits”. The widows are demanding benefits they claim are owed them by government since their ex-husbands died in active service while serving in the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL). The women, and a very small group of men, gathered in the fence of the Capitol Building virtually in their ‘birthday’ suits, demanding redress from lawmakers.
Attempting to attract the attention of lawmakers, who were already locked up in both chambers of the Capitol Building carrying out their regular legislative duties, private security guards personnel embarrassingly prevented the widows from moving any further.
Some security men were seen avoiding looking directly at the widows’ while at the same time trying to restore law and other.
The widows began by creating a circle in the field, chanting revolutionary slogans and later attempting to march towards the building. Their move immediately sparked up concern in almost all offices, thereby forcing onlookers to look outside the building for a firsthand glimpse at what was taking place.
Their ‘emotional protest’ halted normal working activities for hours. Regrettably, however, no lawmaker, including House Speaker Alex Tyler and Senate Pro-Tempore Gbehzohngar Findley attempted to engage the widows.
Speaker Tyler was seen using the entrance opposite the University of Liberia main campus in order to leave the Capitol.
Quizzed on what prompted such an usual action, the women indicated that they were tired of the many promises provided by the Commander-in-Chief President Johnson Sirleaf relative to the matter.
“The government continues to play games with us. Since we embarked on this campaign, the government has not been able to look into our matter. Once, because of the elections President Sirleaf was able to give small money so that we could leave the streets. Since then, nothing has been done to address our plight,” an elderly woman amongst the group indicated.
Even though the women described their action as “unpleasant,” they believe that this is the best way possible to express their frustration to the government they claim lacks interest in addressing their plight.
The Comprehensive Accra Peace Agreement (CPA) recommended that the new AFL be restructured in a way that it would be de-politicized and de-fractionalized. The batch of soldiers, which allegedly contained the husbands of these women, was ethnically entrenched and heavily politicized. The army even became one of the warring factions during Liberia’s 15-year civil war.
On that basis, men and women of the army were released off their duty and later encouraged to reapply for proper training. As part of the restructuring process, many of the living army personnel received their benefits. Payment was made to the some of these women on behalf of the dead husbands.
In view of this, widows of the soldiers are now claiming several benefits from government.
It is not clear as to what the widows’ next plan of action is, but legislative observers believe that the women will not leave the Capitol any sooner.
Up to press time, many of the widows were still seen sitting around the flag posts discussing their way forward.
In this photo, AFP captures a women described as a prostitute in a series of raids by Israel’s immigration police aimed at rounding up and deporting illegal African immigrants.
The scene was recorded on Tuesday near Levinsky Park, in the Mediterranean city of Tel Aviv, where thousands of migrants reside. The question urgently begging for an answer is why was the woman not allowed to put on clothes before her arrest.
Israeli authorities on Monday rounded up dozens of African migrants slated for deportation, most of them from South Sudan, as the government weighs tough penalties against Israelis who help illegal aliens.
The Population and Migration Authority said in a statement that officers arrested 45 migrants from South Sudan, along with three Nigerians, two Ghanaians, two Chinese, one from Ivory Coast, one from the Philippines and one whose nationality is being checked.
Israeli public radio said that in at least two cases, during early-morning swoops in the Red Sea town of Eilat, women with young children were picked up as they walked on the streets and were driven away.
Journalist and rights activist Toni Lissi told army radio that suspects in the town were picked up on the street, in banks, at their places of work and in door-to-door searches.
“The people arrested were taken on buses to detention centres. Their mobile phones were confiscated,” she said.
“Other immigrants are hiding in their homes, not daring to go out until things calm down,’ she said.
An Israeli court on Thursday ruled that the lives of an estimated 1500 migrants from South Sudan are no longer at risk in their homeland, clearing the way for their mass expulsion.
Israeli daily Haaretz said that a government committee on legislation had approved submission of draft bills which would raise the maximum penalty for Israelis who employed, housed or transported around the country illegal immigrants to five years in prison from two at present.
The bill is expected to go to parliament for a preliminary reading this week. The interior ministry says that approximately 60,000 African immigrants have entered Israel illegally, including those from South Sudan, with which Israel has friendly relations.

Nairobi, Kenya - A real life tragedy of untold magnitude befell a Kenyan "couple" when some strange forces saw the two stuck together after an infidelity session at a Nairobi guest house early this week.
However, counteracting forces came into play when a local pastor called upon to pray for divine intervention commanded the duo to separate, to the bewilderment of the amorous man the adulterous wife.
According to news reaching AjabuAfrica.com, and a youtube video widely circulated on the internet, the cheating “couple” got “stuck” in the highly embarrasing situation with the man completely unable to get off the woman.
The graphic video displaying minute by minute progression of the drama has gained over 135,000 hits after only 3 days since posting.
Reports indicate that the husband to the woman had suspected for long that his wife was cheating on him.
Feeling betrayed, he is reported to have visited a witch-doctor who applied black magic on the wife, causing the unfortunate man to get stuck inside her during the act.
After several hours and repeated efforts to separate failed, the “couple” decided to call for help using a cell phone.
Police responded to the distress calls but for hours, they could not rescue the pair from the “black magic”.
A big crowd of curious residents, some perched on nearby rooftops and stone fences, swelled outside to witness the drama, as police ran out of options on how to help the two.
Many jostled for position to take a glimpse of the unfolding drama, with some snapping pictures and live video footage with their cell phones and hand and other held camcorders.
Others tried to openly entice policemen with money in order to be allowed to jump ahead of the line for a better chance to take a glimpse of the unfortunate situation.
“Young man, what is going on? Just say what your problem is so you can be helped,” a policeman, speaking in local dialect (Kiswahili) told a bewildered looking, naked man lying prone on top of the half naked woman who covered her face with a piece of cloth.
Dumbfounded friends pleaded with the woman’s husband to agree to have the pair now facing embarrassment of untold magnitude separated.
Eventually he agreed to have them separated on condition the cheating man paid him Kenya shillings 20,000 as compensation for damages and embarrassment suffered.
However, audio from a widely circulated video indicated the husband said eh would not want the cheating woman back.
The cheating man had little choice but to agree to the deal.
To seal the deal a pastor was summoned to pray for the divine intervention.
“We rebuke the spirit of devil!. I now call the mighty God......, who hates the power of death, to call upon your name now ....,” loudly declared the clergyman who burst into the tiny room filled with a number of police officers and curious onlookers.
He then proceeded to ask the couple if they believed in the name of God.
“Munaamini mungu?” (Do you believe in God?).
After the man said yes and nodded further in agreement, the pastor then commanded him to get off the woman.
“Siutoe hiyo kitu. Toka!” (Pull that thing out. Out!), the pastor commanded.
A short while later, the man succeeded to separate himself from the woman who was now sobbing uncontrollably.
For a moment, the mesmerized man stared at the people in the room in disbelief, before he was able to move and gather his clothes.
“Anaangalia namna gani huyu? Huamini,” (Why is this man staring like this. You don’t believe it?), a policeman was heard asking the man.
Once free, the bewildered looking man gathered courage, dressed up and was escorted rushed to a nearby ATM while the woman remained sobbing in the bed, too ashamed to make any move before the curious crowds could be successfully dispersed.
No matter how people chastise individuals who decide to capture sexual acts in form of videos which eventually end up in the public domain, nothing seems to stop people from indulging in such immoral acts.
The latest to hit Peacefmonline.com is a video of young female SHS students exposing themselves and gladly recording their actions.
A number of female Senior High Students who seemed to be having fun in front of their dormitory was recorded by their fellow students dancing half naked in the open.
The seductive dance went on and on, until one of the girls who has the biggest butts among them decided to intentionally pull her pants down to show her hairy genitalia to the camera.
Even though the particular school, this appalling act took place is not immediately known, pictures and voices in the video indicates that, this happened at a female’s dormitory in a mix school or a girl’s school dormitory somewhere in Ghana.
Why these young girls captured this on video and how the video came into the public domain is also not known.
This is one hilarious photo of Mr Ibu at an event, making the people laugh as usual. This time it was his appearance that did all the talking. In the event-photo, Mr. Ibu exposed his body just to tell the audience that he was serious and mean business. Mr. Ibu will do anythings just to make people laugh. In a recent movie shoot with co-actress Anita Joseph, the comedian was caught eyeing down on the actress's dress looking at her (What’s John Okafor (Mr. Ibu) staring at?). Oh well, beware ladies Mr Ibu is a freak-comedian.
