Some say it runs in the family,but Cq's sister is finding her own niche in the music industry. Inspired by her mother,the songstress is already making enough of a buzz with her smashing video for her song "Should I". At the tender age of 16, Debbie had already recorded and toured with Black Munthu. From this time onwards, it was clear to her that music was her destined career. She taken part in singing competions such as the Celtel Star Search and Pop Idol. It was through her performance in these competitions that she gained enough confidence to record her debut album,which took her two years because she wanted the album to be perfect.

Debbie, 22, Zambian is an up and coming musician who recently launched her debut Album entitled ‘Never Leave.’ She has been acknowledged for having an International standard music video with a hit track from her album called ‘Should I’. The album and music video was released in Nov 2010, two weeks before ZNBC’s Born and Bred Music awards, where she won 2 awards for both her album and music video (...the second most awards after JK) which is a miraculous achievement for any new artiste.
Debbie is unique in Zambia because not only does she write her own songs, but she composes a lot of the music herself, which is a rare talent that very few Zambians are gifted with. Everything she does is literally her own. The entire album is in English, which took 2 years to produce, as a result the album is of an international standard. Debbie’s crowning glory is of course her voice, which has really set a new benchmark for Zambian music today.
It’s the combination of her beautiful voice, strong lyrics, the albums high sound production quality, and her sheer determination that has made this album a masterpiece. All evident in the album itself, which we invite everybody to listen to.
